SUMMARY
The Behaviour Consultant is responsible for conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments and creating Person-Centred Behaviour Support Plans (BSP) for persons with disabilities. You value Excellence, Courage, Integrity, Fairness, and Passion in your work. Behaviour Consultants carry a caseload of individuals who have a variety of support needs, abilities and ages. Additionally, Behaviour Consultants train teams to independently maintain the behaviour support plan with fidelity and write and monitor safety plans as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and relevant experience
- Master’s degree in related field or a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis
- Three years of experience in a PBS-related field
- BCBA/BCaBA certification an asset

DUTIES
- Complete Functional Behaviour Assessment
- Create Person Centred Behaviour Support Plans (BSP)
- Train team to implement BSP with fidelity using behavioral skills training
- Deliver professional report presentations
- Develop, train team to fidelity, and monitor Safety Plans as needed
- Train and provide hands-on modelling of techniques
- Maintain well-organized case files (paper and electronic)
- Consistently generate creative, resourceful solutions in crisis situations
- Understand and model person-centered practice
- Promote a collaborative and team-based approach in service delivery decisions
- Demonstrate initiative and pro-activeness
- Communicate openly, honestly, and respectfully
- Manage and lead effective meetings
- Models appropriate behaviour through positive interactions with team members
- Follow CBI Consultant Planning Tool to complete all tasks in assessment, development and implementation, monitoring, and follow up
- Deliver professional report presentations
- Develop, train team to fidelity, and monitor Safety Plans as needed
- Train team members, including hands-on modelling of techniques
- Develop visual supports in collaboration with CBI media team and Implementation Consultant
- Return all incoming correspondence as per CBI policy
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide Person-Centred planning following the Lifestyle Development Process, including transition planning and goodness of fit for various planning processes (high school to work; home to living in the community; move from parents to paid caregiver)
- Monitor team’s implementation of BSP to ensure fidelity
- Report to funder regarding successes and barriers to implementation of BSP
- Submit billable hours daily, expenses monthly
- Maintain well organized client files (paper and electronic)
- Work using technology as efficiently and effectively as possible
- Utilize evidence-based research in report compilation
- Maintain 90:10 direct to indirect billing ratio
- Manage time such that in-office tasks (for example, writing reports) are completed as per contract parameters and out-of-office tasks (for example, scheduling/attending appointments) are conducted in a professional manner
- Remain professional at all times (externally and internally)
- Attend staff meetings
- Other duties as requested

Position involves working during business hours, evenings, and weekends according to current case load need

- Starting salary range is $65,149.11 to $79,801.61
- This role includes a competency-based salary increase: Increases to wage are applied following the completion of the demonstration of quality assurance benchmarks. Pro-rated benefits include holiday accrual and extended health.

- Although CBI's office is in Burnaby, the Behaviour Consultant position available involves supporting communities within Northern BC travel within those regions is required. Mileage and travel time is paid. Behaviour Consultants require a home office to work from.
