About the Company
Norelco Cabinets is a locally owned and operated cabinet manufacturing company established in 1972. We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Intermediate Accountant / Bookkeeper to provide the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions for our primary operations and peripheral companies.
Position Summary
The Intermediate Accountant / Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with Canadian accounting standards and supporting compliance with federal and provincial reporting requirements. This role requires strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, experience with multi-entity bookkeeping, and the ability to work independently in a manufacturing job costing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple related companies
- Maintain general ledgers, charts of accounts, and supporting documentation
- Record daily financial transactions and post journal entries
- Complete monthly bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Process vendor invoices, expense claims, and payments
- Prepare and issue customer invoices and statements
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue balances
- Reconcile supplier and customer accounts
Payroll & Statutory Remittances
- Assist with payroll processing and related accounting entries
- Prepare and remit statutory deductions including CPP, EI, income tax, and WorkSafeBC
- Support preparation of year-end payroll reporting (T4s, T4 Summaries, ROEs)
GST/PST & Government Reporting
- Prepare and file GST and PST (BC) returns accurately and on time
- Maintain proper records to support CRA and provincial filings
- Respond to routine CRA and provincial inquiries as required
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and internal management reports
- Track intercompany transactions and allocations
- Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and variance analysis
Year-End & External Accountant Support
- Prepare working papers and schedules for year-end review
- Liaise with external accountants and tax professionals
- Ensure records are complete, accurate, and audit-ready
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance
- Minimum 3–5 years of bookkeeping or intermediate accounting experience
- Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions (preferred)
- Working knowledge of Canadian payroll, GST and PST requirements.
- Experience in manufacturing or job costing environments is an asset

Total Rewards
