Job Title: Receptionist / Law Clerk (Law Firm)
We are a small law firm looking for an organized, and proactive team member to join us. If you enjoy helping people, keeping things running smoothly, and want the opportunity to learn and grow in the legal field, we’d love to hear from you!
What you’ll be doing:
- Welcoming and assisting clients at reception (in person and over the phone).
- Booking meetings, arranging couriers, and managing incoming/outgoing mail.
- Answering, screening, and forwarding calls.
- Helping with filing, record keeping, and keeping our databases up to date.
- Organizing and maintaining both paper and electronic files.
- Assisting lawyers and law clerks with day-to-day tasks as needed.
- Making regular bank runs and other office-related errands.
- Learning law clerk (real estate, wills and estates, corporate, litigation) duties — we will provide training and mentorship so you can gradually take on more responsibility.
What we’re looking for:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a law firm.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills — professional, clear, and client-friendly.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Comfortable drafting and reviewing correspondence (emails, letters, and simple legal documents).
- Someone who takes initiative, learns quickly, and is eager to help.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel) and Google Workspace (G-Suite).
- A valid driver’s licence and access to a car (required for bank runs and errands).
