Access Precision Machining Ltd is located in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, one of the most beautiful places in Canada, and recently ranked #1 community in BC. Access Precision Machining incorporates the latest Mazak CNC tool technology with highly skilled journeyman machinists to service a variety of industries and applications. We also provide Waterjet Cutting, Fabrication, Welding, as well as Assembly and Testing Services. Our 35,000 sq-ft state-of-the-art facility (completed in 2015) is always kept in immaculate condition and is as well equipped as any machine shop in a major center.
Our shop works 4 - 10hr shifts Monday to Thursday, allowing for optional overtime on Friday's when available or regular long weekends to get out and enjoy all the Okanagan has to offer with your friends and family. Camping, boating, fishing, skiing and snowmobiling all right our your front door!
Access Precision Machining is looking for skilled CNC machinists -
- Milling
- Turning
- Multi-Axis
- Mill-turn
Utilizing Mazak equipment, the preferred candidate should have a solid background in Mazatrol or other conversational programming but training will also be provided
Be an expert or have a good understanding and working knowledge of several machining technologies with good understanding of tolerances, complexities and functionality of the equipment.
Able to cross-train others on these technologies;
Exhibit good understanding of the set up, operation and maintenance of more than one type of machine tool state-of-the-art machinery and tool technology such as CNC Milling (both vertical and horizontal),
CNC Turning (including the use of live tooling), in particular with Mazak CNC tool technology. Able to setup the specific machining technologies, with minimal supervision and concern for part complexity. Can partially cross-train others.
Use of these machining technologies to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as turning, milling, boring, drilling and other CNC operations;
Able to fully program CNC machines and a good knowledge of multiple axis technologies ;
Good grasp of consumable tooling usage and application for the specific machining technologies regarding terminology and application;
Good grasp of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing; Good understanding and capability of setting and using all measuring tools.
Fully able to complete the proper inspection documentation during the manufacture of the parts; Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations; Able to compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces;
Able to fit and assemble machined metal parts and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools; Able to verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments;
Exhibit good understanding of general manufacturing and the ISO 9001-2015 quality assurance program;
Able to work closely with other machinists and trades people;
Good verbal and written communication skills.
WAGES WILL DEPEND ON EXPERIENCE AND ABILITY!
