Reporting to the Director of Mission, Ethics, Research, and Reconciliation (MERR) the Administrative Assistant (AA) will support 2-3 assigned Directors and will deliver a wide variety of administrative support. The AA has a proven ability to work independently, screen and prioritize communication, meet deadlines, and has the ability to make decisions by anticipating needs. This role requires coordination of confidential and sensitive internal and external communications, the management of complex events, and relationship development with internal and external stakeholders.
Educational and other Qualifications
- Office Administration diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years business office experience
- Proven experience working with a high degree of independence
- Experience working in health care preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrates a high degree of proficiency working with sensitive and confidential information
- Excellent working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite
- General knowledge of office equipment related to the duties of the position
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to deal effectively with conflict in a diplomatic and professional manner
- Proficient with written and oral communication
- Exhibits open and sincere approach to relating to people by demonstrating respect and compassion for everyone equally
- Maintains an individual’s dignity and self-worth during conversations
- Excellent active listening skills
- Ability to travel when necessary
- Occasional work after regular hours in order to meet the demands of the job
- Able to multi-task in a constant high energy environment while responding to complex priorities
- Capable of balancing office tasks with people responsibilities
- Valid driver’s license
Requirements:
- A current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and if applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
