Job Summary
MBC Logging is a local logging company working for West Fraser in Hinton, AB. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper/Office Manager to oversee financial record-keeping and administrative functions within our company. Would also consider a certified accountant. The ideal candidate will manage accounting tasks (invoicing, payables & receivables, loggers edge program, maintain accurate financial records, and support office operations to ensure smooth business processes. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and strong attention to detail to support budgeting, payroll, and account reconciliation activities. We are a small office of 3 so must be willing to assist with other job duties when needed (safety, hiring, etc).
Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using accounting software QuickBooks. This will include running payroll and invoicing.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting activities
- Process payroll accurately and in compliance with relevant regulations
- Maintain organized financial documentation and records for audit purposes
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling, correspondence, and office management duties
- Assist with month-end closing procedures and financial statement preparation
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks. Loggers edge experience is a bonus but not mandatory - training offered.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, including accounts payable/receivable management
- Experience with account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis
- Ability to perform payroll processing accurately
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills for budgeting and financial reporting
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and vendors
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
