This is a contract role spanning from May-August. Paid on a per-game basis outlined in the contract. Most of our successful hires are either ex-players or NAIT broadcasting students.
Direct lacrosse experience is not required.
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and creative Camera Operator to join our dynamic media production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for capturing high-quality footage at live events, mainly Major Junior Lacrosse in the city. This role requires technical proficiency, artistic vision, and the ability to operate camera equipment effectively. The Camera Operator will collaborate closely with directors, producers.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of camera equipment to record footage for different types of live events.
- Set up camera rigs, lenses, and accessories according to shot requirements.
- Work with the production team to plan shot compositions and angles that enhance viewer experience.
- Maintain and troubleshoot camera gear to ensure optimal performance during shoots.
- Collaborate with directors and lighting technicians to achieve desired visual effects.
- Capture high-quality footage in various lighting and environmental conditions.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating professional camera equipment in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of framing, composition, lighting, and camera movement techniques.
- Creative vision combined with technical expertise to produce compelling visual content.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
