Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Field Operations Supervisor (Working Supervisor) to lead and execute industrial projects across New Brunswick. This hands-on leadership role combines field supervision with active trade work, requiring the successful candidate to work alongside crews while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Our projects span a variety of industries, including pulp and paper, sawmills, food processing, mining, manufacturing, and commercial steel construction. The ideal candidate is adaptable, safety-focused, and capable of leading teams in diverse industrial environments.
Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities on active job sites.
- Lead and support multi-trade crews, including pipefitters, ironworkers, millwrights, welders, and industrial mechanics.
- Ensure work is completed according to drawings, specifications, schedules, and industry standards.
- Assist with planning, material coordination, and site readiness.
Hands-On Technical Work
- Perform skilled trade work as required, including piping, ironwork, rigging, millwrighting, mechanical installations, and related activities.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and problem-solving support to crews.
- Lead by example in safety, productivity, and workmanship.
Safety & Quality Assurance
- Enforce company safety policies and site-specific requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks, FLHAs, and job hazard assessments.
- Ensure compliance with PPE, lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, and other safety protocols.
- Verify quality of installations, welds, alignments, structural assemblies, and mechanical systems.
Reporting & Client Relations
- Complete daily reports, timesheets, and progress updates.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Mentor and support field personnel.
- Represent the company professionally and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and customer value.
Experience & Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 5 years of industrial field experience in a licensed trade.
- Previous experience as a Lead Hand, Foreperson, or Working Supervisor.
- Strong knowledge of industrial piping systems, ironwork, rigging, millwrighting, tank construction, or mechanical installations.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication details.
- Experience working in industrial environments such as pulp mills, sawmills, mining, manufacturing, or processing facilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between project sites.
Preferred Assets
- Red Seal Certification (Millwright, Pipefitter, Ironworker, Welder, or related trade).
- Experience leading shutdowns, turnarounds, or capital projects.
- Safety certifications such as First Aid, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Elevated Work Platform (EWP), etc.
- Experience using field reporting tools and project management systems.
Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
