Position Summary:
The Chef de Partie at Gordon Ramsay Steak is responsible for working in a specific section of the kitchen, reporting directly to the Sous Chef. This role requires culinary experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Chef de Partie ensures the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, contributing to the exceptional dining experience of our guests. This role ensures adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures, leads by example and supports Great Canadian’s learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and brand standards.
- Prepare mis en place (“setting in place” of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and other products as required for a fine dining experience.
- Ensure consistency and quality in every dish served, maintaining the restaurant's high standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory checks, and ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
- Work closely with the Sous Chef, Chef de Tournant and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment in the section is properly maintained and cleaned.
- Communicate effectively with the previous and next shift to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
- Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with the rest of the kitchen staff.
- Follow waste management procedures to minimize waste and manage food costs.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health, and safety regulations at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
Education and Qualification Requirements:
- Available to work up to 40 hours per week in a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends.
- Minimum 2-year culinary experience in a fine dining restaurant or similar establishment.
- Proficient in various cooking techniques and styles, with strong culinary skills.
- Attention detail to ensure every dish meets quality and presentation standards.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of working efficiently under pressure.
- High School Diploma or combination of education and experience.
- Level 1 FoodSafe.
- Able to successfully obtain a Criminal Record Check
- A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development.
