Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full-cycle recruitment activities for a diverse portfolio of unionized and non-unionized roles. This highly hands-on role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, while delivering a positive candidate and hiring manager experience.
Working closely with their assigned client groups and hiring managers, the incumbent leads recruitment activities from intake to onboarding, applying relevant People and Culture policies, procedures and collective agreement provisions, as applicable. The role requires consistent follow-through, clear communication, and the ability to adapt recruitment approaches to different operational needs. The incumbent also uses recruitment technologies and available data to track progress, support decision-making, and contribute to efficient, consistent, inclusive and equitable hiring practices.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned business functions, including intake, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, reference checks, offer preparation and onboarding support;
- Partner with hiring managers to define position requirements, confirm assessment criteria, and support a structured interview process for each competition;
- Coordinate and lead structured phone, virtual and in-person interviews, using defined criteria to support fair and consistent candidate assessment;
- Screen and assess candidates against pre-determined qualifications, competencies and experience, and recommend candidates for further consideration;
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment records in the applicant tracking system, ensuring compliance with NAC policies procedures and applicable collective agreement;
- Deliver a responsive candidate experience through proactive, professional and transparent communication at each stage of the recruitment process;
- Review job postings to ensure they are accurate, clear, inclusive, accessible and reflective of the actual requirements of the role;
- Present job offers to candidates and explains key elements of the compensation package, including salary, benefits and pension, as applicable;
- Use applicant tracking systems, scheduling tools, Microsoft 365 and basic recruitment metrics to monitor progress, identify delays and support efficient hiring processes;
- Champion inclusive hiring practices by applying standardized evaluation tools, contributing to diverse sourcing approaches, and ensuring recruitment communications reflect NAC’s commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility;
- Provide reliable follow-through with candidates and hiring managers so that recruitment steps, documentation and communications are completed accurately and on time;
- Use recruitment technologies (ATS, sourcing tools, scheduling tools) to manage processes efficiently;
- Contribute to broader People & Culture initiatives, projects and process improvements, as required.
