Senior Fit Technician (Apparel)
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Fit Technician to join a dynamic product development team within a fast-paced global fashion retail environment in Montreal!
This role plays a critical part in ensuring consistent fit, quality, and garment integrity across multiple product categories.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in garment construction, pattern making, and fit development, with a strong understanding of how design intent translates into production-ready product across multiple fits, fabrics, and silhouettes.
You will collaborate closely with design, product development, and overseas vendors to ensure that all styles meet brand standards for fit, quality, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute fit sessions from prototype through production approval
- Analyze and correct patterns to achieve optimal fit, balance, and construction quality
- Partner with design and product development teams to interpret sketches and technical packs
- Provide clear, actionable fit comments to overseas factories and vendors
- Maintain consistency in fit standards across categories and seasons
- Manage and mentor junior fit technicians or technical team members
- Identify and resolve fit, construction, and production issues proactively
- Support calendar deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in fit, pattern making, or technical design within apparel
- Strong expertise in garment construction, grading, and pattern correction
- Proven experience working with overseas manufacturing partners
- Previous experience managing or mentoring a technical team
- Strong eye for detail, fit balance, and silhouette consistency
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment
