Bright Beginnings Early Childhood Centre is looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Summer Student; Child Care Assistant to join our team for the summer months. This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, and applicants must meet all program eligibility requirements.
The successful candidate will support our educators in providing a safe, engaging, and positive environment for children throughout the summer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can multitask while maintaining a positive attitude.
Canada Summer Jobs Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee protection in Canada
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)

- Individuals on temporary work permits or temporary work visas
- International students who are not Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons granted refugee protection in Canada

Assets:
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification considered an asset (maximum ECE Level 1 only). Applicants with education above ECE Level 1 will not be considered.
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification
- Previous experience working with children
Responsibilities
- Assist educators in supervising and engaging children in indoor and outdoor activities
- Support children's daily routines, transitions, and play experiences
- Assist with planning and preparing activities for children
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
- Support children’s developmental, emotional, and social needs
- Work collaboratively with team members to provide quality child care
Pay: $15.35-$21.06 per hour
