Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced QC/QA Welding Supervisor to oversee quality assurance and quality control processes within our manufacturing facility. This is a steel fabrication of pre-engineered steel building facility. This position is for a qualified welding supervisor who should also possess a strong knowledge of steel fabrication drawings, tolerances, strong familiarity with welding inspection and quality control procedures and understanding of standards such as ISO, CSA W47.1 and CSA W59. The candidate will also possess strong communication skills, including detailed reporting and documentation abilities. This role requires strong analysis skills, project management capabilities, and a thorough understanding of manufacturing and quality management principles. The QC/QA Welding Supervisor plays a critical role in safeguarding product integrity and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate welding inspection activities to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications
- Develop and implement quality control procedures for welding processes, including visual inspections and non-destructive testing methods
- Lead root cause analysis for welding defects and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions
- Conduct regular audits of welding operations, documentation, and compliance with safety regulations
- Manage a team of inspectors and technicians, providing training and guidance on QA/QC protocols
- Review welding procedures, certifications, and material traceability documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of quality-assured products
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions taken
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to welding quality assurance processes
Requirements
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on welding quality control and assurance
- Responsible for ensuring all fabricated steel components meet project specifications, customer requirements, company and industry standards, and quality procedures before they leave the shop as the candidate will be someone with experience and knowledge in structural steel fabrication
- Strong analysis skills to identify root causes of defects and implement effective solutions
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, CSA W47.1 and CSA W59 related to welding inspection and quality management
- Experience in quality inspection, project management, and overall quality management systems (QMS)
- Familiarity with QA/QC methodologies including non-destructive testing techniques
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
- Strong communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating across departments
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and welding procedures
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent are preferred
Hours: Monday to Friday 7 am to 4 pm.
Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
