Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team. This role involves fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge and experience with various welding techniques, including MIG and TIG welding. Candidates should be detail-oriented, capable of reading blueprints and schematics, and proficient with a range of hand and power tools. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects such as floating docks, boat ports/roofs, platforms, stairs, railings, structural components, and custom fabrications in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication specifications
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metals to create high-quality assemblies
- Use press brake machines, and hand tools to cut, shape, and assemble materials
- Rigging materials safely for lifting and positioning using cranes or forklifts as needed
- Operate machining equipment for precise fabrication tasks
- Measure components accurately using calipers, tape measures, and other precision tools
- Assemble fabricated parts according to schematics and manufacturing standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving ductwork, construction elements, or custom assemblies
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques with demonstrated experience in fabrication environments
- Mechanical knowledge of machinery, tools, and fabrication processes
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Experience with plasma cutting, press brake machines, machining equipment, and hand/power tools
- Knowledge of rigging procedures and crane operation for lifting heavy materials safely
- Familiarity with basic math for measurements, and assembly techniques
- Understanding of manufacturing standards related to docks, construction components, or structural steel
- Ability to operate forklifts safely (certification preferred)
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced setting
