- Develop an understanding of the rules, regulations and code of ethics of the CPA.
- Know and apply general accounting, bookkeeping and taxation to client situations.
- Recognize potential problems in engagements, formulate conclusions based on careful study of available facts and options and bring them to the attention of senior staff.
- Develop efficient use of Taxprep, Caseware, Caseview, MS Word, Excel and other software used by the firm.
- Become familiar with financial statements, preparation of tax reports, working paper analysis, requirements and preparation techniques.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills; bilingualism is considered an asset.
- Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field.
- Should be qualified for and planning to pass a professional designation upon completion of University education.
- Keen organizational and time management skills.
- Experience using MS Word and Excel.
- The firm will pay 50% of tuition fees (up to $2,000) for students who will return to the firm for second term.
- The firm will also pay 50% of tuition fees (up to $2000) for co-op students who will return to the firm on a fulltime basis following their final co-op term.
- The firm will reimburse up to $800 for the co-op term fees for each co-op term with the firm.
- Once enrolled in the CPA program and working full-time, we provide paid study days and paid exam days relating to your professional exams.
- The firm will pay co-op term student’s overtime.
