About the role:
- The driver will work alone in most cases and will drive a well-maintained truck to our customers' sites (primarily industrial or any organization that generates wastes that must be disposed of in a legal manner).
- Prepare the waste inventory for safe transportation.
- Properly complete paperwork (Bill of Lading, Ontario Waste Manifest), labelling and quality control to identify goods loaded for transport.
- Layovers required most weeks. 1-2 nights per week on average. Trucks equipped with bunks to be slept in. Hotel rooms booked for you when driving truck without bunk.
- Areas we service in Canada are primarily in Ontario. Weekly runs to east coast provinces (PEI, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick). Weekly runs to U.S (New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, South Carolina). Passport / Fast Card required.
- Early starts required varying between 5am-7am.
- Average between 50-60 hours per week.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- At least 2 years of A-Z driving experience. NO MANUAL TRANSMISSION RESTRICTION.
- FAST card required
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Experience with hauling dangerous goods/hazardous loads, and operating equipment such as Vac-Tanker, Dump Trailer, and Shell Tanker very beneficial.
- The desire to be an independent-minded worker who enjoys interacting with people and providing valuable service.
- Reasonable physical exertion is required, such as climbing in and out of trucks and pushing loaded pallet trucks short distances. However, we forbid any type of physical activity that could be deemed as risky or dangerous.
