About Us
We are a privately owned hotel management company operating a portfolio of hotels across British Columbia and Alberta under leading international brands. Our portfolio is growing, and we are building out our head office finance team to support it.
The Role
You will own full-cycle accounting for our hotel portfolio, reporting directly to our Director of Finance and Accounting. This is a hands-on role. You will bring the accounting in-house, tighten our reporting cycle and become the go-to finance resource for our hotel general managers.
What You Will Do
- Complete monthly full-cycle accounting and month-end close across multiple hotel properties, each with its own operating entity
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for ownership
- Prepare quarterly reporting packages for our lenders
- Coordinate year-end files, tax compliance and filings with our external accounting firm
- Manage GST, PST, hotel tax (MRDT) and other regulatory filings across BC and Alberta
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, brand fees and third-party booking platform settlements (Expedia, Booking.com, brand central reservations)
- Work directly with our regional managers and hotel GMs to resolve accounting questions and improve month-end processes
- Support the transition of accounting work from external providers to head office
- Assist with budgets, forecasts and acquisition due diligence as our portfolio grows
- Use AI tools (such as Claude or ChatGPT) to speed up variance analysis, draft reporting narratives, build reconciliation workflows and automate repetitive close tasks
- Help identify where AI and automation can replace manual accounting processes across the portfolio
What You Bring
- 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, hotel or hospitality accounting strongly preferred
- Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions
- Strong working knowledge of GST, PST and payroll-adjacent compliance in BC (Alberta experience is an asset)
- Comfort working with hotel property management systems and their reports (night audit, daily revenue, city ledger)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Hands-on experience using AI tools in your accounting work, whether for analysis, drafting, data cleanup or workflow automation. We use AI heavily across our companies and expect you to as well
- Curiosity about emerging tools like AI-powered invoice processing, OCR data extraction and automated reconciliation
- CPA designation or active enrolment is an asset, not a requirement
- A self-starter mindset. You will be building processes, not inheriting them
Why Join Us
- Direct access to ownership and senior leadership, with no layers in between
- A growing portfolio, which means growing responsibility and room to advance
- Extended health and dental benefits
- Hotel stay discounts across our brand-affiliated properties
