The Opportunity
We are hiring two (2)Irrigation Techniciansto join our Calgary team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems, with support duties in landscaping and site work. You’ll also operate a variety of equipment including skid steers, trenchers, and mini hoes. The ideal candidate has experience in commercial irrigation, pipe fusing, and thrives working independently while reporting directly to the CEO.
What You’ll Do
- Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems including sprinkler heads, valves, piping, and controllers
- Lay pipe and connect irrigation components to ensure proper system function
- Perform startups, diagnostics, system adjustments and seasonal blowouts (as required)
- Assist with minor landscaping tasks such as grading, planting, and site prep
- Operate equipment including skid steers, trenchers, and mini hoes safely and effectively
- Fuse pipe using proper techniques; certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Transport materials and tools to and from project sites
- Build and install valve boxes for irrigation system protection and accessibility if required
- Maintain job site cleanliness and comply with environmental and safety standards
- Complete accurate reports and communicate regularly with the Irrigation Manager or Designate
- Identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols

What We’re Looking For
- Two (2) or more years of experience in commercial landscaping, irrigation, or construction-related work preferred
- Experience with commercial irrigation system installation
- Experience or certification in pipe fusing preferred (willingness to obtain)
- Valid Class 5; Class 3, or 1 driver’s license not required but an asset
- Must be able to haul a trailer safely and efficiently
- Experience operating skid steers, mini hoes, and other equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safety and workplace hazard management
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company and take additional training or certifications as required such as Fusing Certification, etc.
What We’re Looking For
- Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC) or Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) certification (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in commercial irrigation, construction or landscaping
- Experience fusing pipe (fusing ticket preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with system diagnostics
- Skilled in equipment operation (skid steers, mini hoes, trenchers)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
- Able to lift and handle 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather
- Fast-paced, self-motivated worker with strong problem-solving skills
- A clear driver’s abstract required
Working Conditions
- Field-based role with travel to various Calgary-area job sites
- Physically demanding with exposure to changing weather conditions
- Requires lifting, bending, kneeling, and use of power tools and machinery
- Standard schedule: Monday to Friday with occasional extended hours or weekend work depending on seasonal demand
