Position Overview
Kogi is seeking a highly specialized and results-driven Application Specialist – Technical Sales with a proven 1–2 year track record in industrial air collection systems and technical sales support.
This role is based in Edmonton, AB and combines technical application expertise with customer-facing sales responsibilities. The successful candidate will assess client needs, recommend and tailor engineered solutions, prepare quotations and proposals, and provide ongoing technical support after the sale.
The role works closely with senior Application Specialists and represents major manufacturers such as Parker Hannifin, Clean Air Industries, and Cincinnati Fan. The position also requires proficiency in Zoho CRM, including creating automations and workflows, and experience or training with Nordfab or US Duct software for duct system layouts and design.
This is a customer-facing role that involves regular travel to client sites across Canada and the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain and grow sales relationships with existing industrial clients while identifying and soliciting new business opportunities
· Assess client needs and recommend appropriate dust, mist, and smoke collection solutions tailored to specific applications
· Design, select, and quote air pollution control systems for industrial clients
· Prepare technical sales proposals, presentations, and cost estimates to illustrate system benefits and ROI
· Perform duct layout design using Nordfab or US Duct software, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
· Apply Cincinnati Fan selection software for accurate fan sizing and application matching
· Utilize Parker Hannifin and Clean Air Industries products to develop complete air quality solutions
· Prepare, administer, and track sales contracts and maintain accurate customer records
· Manage and optimize Zoho CRM, including building automations, workflows, and custom reports
· Conduct site visits for system assessments, troubleshooting, and post-sale technical support
· Collaborate with senior Application Specialists, suppliers, and end users on technical and commercial projects
· Represent Kogi at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings
· Develop and maintain in-depth technical product knowledge to explain features, benefits, and system operation to clients
· Contribute to sales strategies, market analysis, and competitive assessments
Requirements
· University degree in engineering (mechanical, environmental, chemical, or related engineering discipline)
· 1–2 years of experience with Cincinnati Fan (or comparable) (quoting, selection, and application support, product line)
· 1–2 years of hands-on experience in dust, mist, or smoke collection systems
· 1–2 years of experience in duct design with Nordfab or US Duct software (or comparable) (training or direct use)
· Experience with Parker Hannifin and Clean Air Industries product lines (or comparable)
· Proven experience using Zoho CRM, including creating automations, workflows, and managing CRM data
· Strong understanding of fan curves, ductwork design, and airflow principles
· Excellent communication, organization, negotiation, and customer service skills
· Ability to assess client needs and translate technical solutions into commercial proposals
· Must be based in Edmonton, AB, with a valid driver’s license and ability to travel across Canada and the U.S.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general technical documentation tools
· Regional Expertise: Minimum 1–2 years of experience working within the Canadian industrial landscape, with a firm understanding of CSA standards and provincial safety codes.
· Climate-Specific Design: Proven ability to design air collection systems that account for Western Canada’s extreme temperature fluctuations and seasonal operational challenges.
· Professional Credentials: University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Environmental, or Chemical). Must be currently registered as an EIT (Engineer-in-Training) or P.Eng. with APEGA, or possess a degree from an Engineers Canada-accredited institution and be eligible for immediate registration.
