Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and certified Marine Travelift Operator to join our team at Granville Island Baotyard. This role is vital for the safe and efficient handling of marine equipment, supporting vessel movements, and ensuring operational excellence within our maritime operations. Duties
- Operate Marine Travelifts to load, unload, and transfer vessels and heavy marine equipment with precision and safety.
- Conduct rigging procedures to secure loads properly before lifting or moving vessels.
- Perform routine inspections of Travelift machinery to ensure optimal functioning and identify maintenance needs.
- Coordinate with dock personnel and vessel crews to facilitate smooth operations during vessel movements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all lifts, transfers, and equipment inspections.
- Assist with mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs when necessary to minimize downtime.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to operational guidelines.
- Support overall yard operations by maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Marine Travelift Operator is required.
- Must have a BC Drivers license
- Proven experience operating Marine Travelifts in a maritime or industrial setting.
- Strong rigging skills with knowledge of load securing techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge related to marine lifting equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and safety instructions effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and handle physically demanding tasks.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and vessel crews.

Pay: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
