Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete finishing, and related trades, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. This role involves working on various projects including new construction, restoration, and renovation, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standards. The Concrete Finisher will collaborate with other skilled trades such as carpentry, welding, and heavy equipment operation to deliver durable and aesthetically pleasing concrete surfaces. Some projects may take us out of town overnight for extended periods of time.
Duties
- Finish concrete surfaces using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to achieve smooth, level finishes.
- Install rebar and formwork according to blueprints and schematics for structural integrity.
- Operate heavy machinery safely for pouring and finishing concrete.
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints to determine project requirements.
- Assist in concrete forming processes and ensure proper placement of reinforcement materials.
- Conduct quality checks on finished surfaces for smoothness, levelness, and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with team members on renovation projects involving concrete work and other related tasks.
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling tools and disposing of debris.
Requirements
- Proven experience in concrete finishing, and forming, or related construction trades.
- Mechanical knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation.
- Skills in rebar installation, concrete forming, caulking, flooring installation, and restoration work.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and schematics accurately for project execution.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and protocols.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent craftsmanship skills.
- Prior experience with blueprint reading and schematic interpretation is preferred.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team on complex projects involving renovation or new construction. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality construction projects while developing your skills across multiple trades within the industry.
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
