Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for finishing concrete surfaces to meet project specifications, ensuring quality workmanship and safety standards. This role offers opportunities to work on diverse projects, including new construction, restoration, and renovation of various structures. The Concrete Finisher will collaborate with other trades and utilize a variety of tools and techniques to achieve smooth, durable concrete surfaces.
Responsibilities
- Finish concrete surfaces using hand tools and power tools to achieve a smooth such as a power trowel and level finish when laying floors or various surfaces by hand
- Install rebar and formwork according to blueprints and schematics for structural support
- Apply caulking, sealing, and other restoration techniques to enhance durability and appearance
- Use carpentry skills for framing, form building, and adjustments during concrete installation
- Conduct finishing tasks such as power troweling, floating, edging, and jointing to meet project standards
- Follow safety protocols by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to site safety guidelines
- Lift heavy materials and perform heavy lifting safely throughout the workday
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction tools and equipment operation
- Proficiency in rebar installation, concrete forming, and masonry techniques
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation
- Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques including troweling, floating, and edging
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices and protocols
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during demanding physical tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in executing complex projects
