The Birch Centre for Learning and Development Inc. is looking for a fun, engaging and dynamic team player to join our growing team as a Supervised Senior Therapist!
Independant Contractor Position
The ideal candidate would be responsible for:
- · Direct 1:1 work with clients ages 2-17 with Autism Spectrum Disorder, unique learning needs and/or developmental delays.
- · The Senior Therapist will provide clinical supervision and develop treatment plans for all clients, facilitate and conduct assessments and reviews of assigned clients; communicate regularly with parents; providing staff or caregiver training, feedback, and support as needed.
- · Facilitating assessments (ABLLS-R, AFLS, VBMAPP, FBA) for learners diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- · Monitor client progress and modify programs as needed
- · Assist in writing Individualized Service Plans and behaviour reduction plan as needed
- Assist with administrative and managerial tasks as needed (i.e. scheduling)
- · Weekly communication with members of the client’s clinical team and families.
- · Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to collaborate with families, team members and other professionals
- · A strong understanding of the Principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis
- · Facilitating the Intake process
Skills and Qualifications:
- · The successful candidate will have completed, or be in the process of completing requirements to obtain and retain BCBA/RBA certification.
- Educational requirements may include a Master's Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (i.e. Autism and Behavioural Science, Psychology, or Bachelor of Education, etc.)
- · A Minimum of two to five years of experience in the delivery of ABA services
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and to lead a team
- Must be available to work Monday to Friday between 9:000 am and 6:00 pm.
- · One or more years of experience with the clinical supervision of ABA/IBI programs. Applicants must have strong knowledge and experience in the following; ABA teaching strategies, curriculum-based assessments, preference assessments, functional assessments and individualized behaviour reduction programs.
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: $28.00-$33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
