Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant specializing in Accounts Receivable to join our accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable activities, maintaining accurate financial records, recording customer payments, and supporting month-end financial reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and committed to providing excellent internal and external customer service.
Responsibilities
- Record all vehicle sales accurately in the accounting system.
- Create and process customer invoices and receivables.
- Accurately apply customer payments.
- Monitor outstanding customer balances.
- Prepare and send payment reminders.
- Follow up professionally on overdue accounts.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare AR aging reports for management.
- Assist with month-end reconciliations and reporting.
- Maintain accurate customer account records.
- Support the accounting team with additional administrative duties as required.
What You'll Bring
- Experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a similar accounting role.
- Diploma or certificate in accounting.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency with accounting software, including experience with CDK, is considered an asset.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Google Sheets is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in the automotive industry is considered an asset.
