What You'll Do
As a Stormwater Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, analysis and design of stormwater management and municipal servicing systems for residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Completing stormwater hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using PCSWMM to support development applications and servicing strategies.
- Preparing Stormwater Management Reports, Master Drainage Plans, and Staged Master Drainage Plans.
- Preparing Sanitary Servicing Studies, including hydraulic capacity assessments and downstream network analysis.
- Designing stormwater management facilities, storm sewer systems, overland drainage systems, and Low Impact Development (LID) features.
- Developing servicing concepts and preliminary infrastructure layouts for land development projects.
- Preparing and reviewing Development Site Servicing Plans (DSSPs) for site development projects.
- Reviewing grading plans to ensure positive drainage and compliance with City of Calgary standards.
- Coordinating with planners, civil engineers, landscape architects, transportation engineers, and utility consultants.
- Liaising with the City of Calgary and other approval agencies throughout the development approval process.
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Assisting with proposal preparation, project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and client meetings.
- Performing quality control reviews of engineering reports, calculations, and design drawings.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA.
- Minimum 5 years of municipal or land development engineering experience in Alberta.
- Strong understanding of the City of Calgary development approval process and municipal servicing standards.
- Demonstrated experience preparing:
- Stormwater hydrologic and hydraulic models using PCSWMM
- Stormwater Management Reports
- Master Drainage Plans
- Staged Master Drainage Plans
- Municipal servicing strategies and technical reports
- Development Site Servicing Plans (DSSPs)
- Sanitary Servicing Studies
- Experience designing storm sewer systems, stormwater management facilities, and overland drainage systems.
- Proficiency with PCSWMM, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience with WaterCAD is considered an asset

Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
