Role Description
We are expanding our Inventory Control Team. We are hiring an experienced Material Receivers/Outside Forklift Operator for our Inventory Control team. This role supports receiving building materials in our Yard beside our production facility.
- Operate forklift
- Communicate material issues, such as damage, shortages, or overages to Materials Team Lead.
- Perform receiving inspections on materials, including verification of correct delivery address, correct items being delivered, correct quantities delivered and inspect for material damage and related quality characteristics as established.
- Receive deliveries requiring manual lifting and/ or the use of small material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Process receiving documents as required.
- Assist in managing stock and as well as all related data entry functions.
- Ensure all material storage areas are kept clean and organized and equipment maintained.
- Perform stock checks (cycle counts) as assigned and participate in quarterly inventory counts as required.
- Keeps loading areas and machinery clean.
- Assists other crews when required.
Experience:
- Forklift training
- Prior Inventory and Stock Control Experience
- Knowledge of Building Materials is an asset
- Strong clerical and administrative work, great organizational skills, ability to multitask
- Experience with MS office and computer based inventory control systems
- Good communication skills: ability to communicate (verbally and written with all staff members, including Management, Supervisors, Lead Hands as well as clients if necessary).
- Handle difficult situations professionally
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to lift heavy materials
- Fluent in English, including reading documentation
Location:
This role is office based at our 200,000 square feet manufacturing facility 20 minutes North of Calgary in Crossfield, Alberta, strategically located near a High Load Corridor which allows us to transport loads up to 9 meters high to many parts of Alberta, Saskatchewan, BC, and the United States. Our employees live in Calgary, Airdrie and surrounding communities.
