Nicholson Cates is seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to support our growing lumber and building materials operation. The successful candidate will coordinate daily deliveries, optimize truck utilization, and ensure smooth communication between drivers, customers, and sales staff.
Job Type: Full-time, Day Shift
Hours:
3-month training period: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.
After 3 months: 6:00am-2:00pm
Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year
Work Location: In person - Caledonia, Ontario
What You’ll Do
- Dispatch local and highway trucks efficiently to meet multiple-stop delivery schedules
- Plan pickups and deliveries using DispatchMate, TitanGPS, and MS Office
- Communicate clearly with drivers, customers, and sales representatives
- Coordinate with internal sales staff to negotiate opportunities to centralize freight movements
- Resolve delivery or service issues promptly and professionally
- Support day-to-day planning to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Use KPI tracking tools to produce reports
- Monitor preventative maintenance schedules
- Become the primary contact for all freight movement within Nicholson Cates
What You Bring
- Minimum 3 years of dispatch experience in transportation, lumber, or building supply
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
- Strong customer service mindset
- Proficiency with MS Office and dispatch/transportation systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
