The Role: Marina Mechanic
We’re looking for a skilled Marina Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain engines, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on recreational and commercial vessels. You’ll keep our customers’ boats performing at their best and help keep the marina running smoothly. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel and gas engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and mechanical components
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot vessel systems including cooling and lubrication
- Complete high-quality repairs on both major and minor issues
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace to OH&S standards
- Accurately complete work orders, timecards, and maintenance reports
- Stay current with marine technologies and repair techniques
- Collaborate with the team to deliver excellent customer service
- Cross-train on additional marina functions as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years as a ticketed Heavy-Duty Mechanic (marine experience is a strong asset)
- Strong skills in hydraulics, electrical systems (12/24/110 V), schematics, and diagnostics
- Journeyman, Marine Mechanic, or Heavy-Duty Mechanic certification preferred; Volvo/Mercury certifications are a bonus (we’ll train the right candidate)
- Safety-focused, detail-oriented, and a proactive problem-solver
- Organized, accountable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative with solid communication skills and a positive attitude
Work Environment
- Full-time, permanent position with occasional overtime
- Indoor and outdoor work; PPE provided
- Occasional off-site work may be required
- Exposure to typical marine trade conditions
