We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Data Scientist, Applied AI to help lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI systems powering intelligent spatial technologies and production-scale AI applications.
This is a senior applied AI and data science role focused on research, development, and deployment of production machine learning systems across deep learning, computer vision, spatial data processing, and scalable AI infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the research, design, development, and evaluation of advanced AI and deep learning models for map recognition, spatial image processing, and image vectorization
- Build, train, optimize, and deploy machine learning and deep learning models using frameworks such as PyTorch
- Design and maintain scalable production AI systems, pipelines, and model-serving infrastructure
- Develop AI-based and LLM-based components that support spatial intelligence, indoor navigation, and map understanding applications
- Develop and maintain Python-based backend services supporting AI deployment, inference, monitoring, and performance optimization
- Design and optimize data storage structures, indexing strategies, and large-scale data workflows required for AI systems
- Support the scalability, reliability, and performance of production AI systems and infrastructure
- Develop geospatial data processing pipelines, spatial indexing methods, and spatial AI workflows
- Maintain and optimize Linux-based production environments, SQL-backed systems, and backend services supporting AI applications
- Collaborate across engineering and product teams to build scalable AI-driven solutions
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to AI systems, workflows, experiments, and deployment processes
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Applied Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related technical field
- 8+ years of experience developing Python-based machine learning, data science, or production AI systems
- Extensive hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch
- Proven experience designing, training, evaluating, and deploying production AI or machine learning systems
- Strong expertise in computer vision, image recognition, image analysis, and structured data extraction from visual inputs
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, scalability, and performance optimization
- Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases in large-scale AI or data-intensive environments
- Experience with Linux-based production environments and performance tuning
- Strong understanding of geospatial data, spatial indexing, map-related data systems, or spatial intelligence applications
- Strong foundation in linear algebra, calculus, statistics, and core machine learning principles
- Ability to lead complex applied AI initiatives from research and prototyping through production deployment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LLM-based systems and applied AI products
- Experience with MLOps, AI infrastructure, and model deployment at scale
- Experience integrating AI systems into end-to-end production environments
- Experience with image vectorization, map recognition, spatial image processing, or geospatial data pipelines
- Experience modernizing legacy systems supporting AI, data processing, or production workflows
