We’re looking for a Lodge Manager who can bring structure to complexity, lead with confidence, and deliver a consistently exceptional guest experience in a dynamic, high-performing environment.

Position Summary
The Lodge Manager is the senior on-site leader responsible for the overall coordination, performance, and continuity of lodge operations. You will lead the full lodge team, align daily operations across departments, and ensure that guest experience, staffing, logistics, and safety all function as one cohesive system.
This role directly supervises the Assistant Lodge Manager and provides leadership across all frontline teams, including front-of-house, guides, bartenders, and housekeeping. You will work closely with the Property and Systems Lead to ensure seamless integration between guest operations and infrastructure.
The focus of this role is to maintain operational continuity, deliver a high standard of guest experience, and support a structured, systems-based operating environment that reduces reliance on individual knowledge and improves consistency across rotations.
This is a year-round, lodge-based leadership role with a rotational schedule that includes time at both Blachford Lodge and the Yellowknife office.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, coach, and support a multidisciplinary lodge team
- Manage performance, provide feedback, and address workplace issues
- Ensure proper staffing coverage across rotations
- Support onboarding, training, and development
- Foster a strong, respectful, and accountable team culture
Operational Oversight
- Oversee all lodge operations across departments
- Align daily execution between the Assistant Lodge Manager and Property and Systems Lead
- Monitor operational risks and proactively address gaps
- Maintain full situational awareness of lodge activity, staffing, and guest needs
- Support operational planning with the Director of Operations
Logistics and Daily Execution
- Oversee execution of the daily operational plan
- Coordinate with the Expeditor on flights, freight, and guest movement
- Maintain awareness of aviation schedules and operational impacts
- Identify and escalate logistical risks or delays
Guest Experience
- Ensure consistent, high-quality guest experience delivery
- Manage escalated guest concerns and service recovery
- Support programming and service execution
- Maintain a visible, engaged leadership presence
Administration and Reporting
- Oversee payroll inputs and staff tracking systems
- Ensure incident reporting, including WSCC documentation, is completed accurately
- Review logs, schedules, and operational documentation
- Provide regular reporting to the Director of Operations
- Maintain documentation that supports continuity and compliance
Safety and Risk Management
- Lead overall site safety culture and compliance
- Ensure proper documentation of incidents and safety concerns
- Support emergency preparedness and response
- Collaborate with the Property and Systems Lead on infrastructure-related safety
What You Bring
Experience
- 7 to 10 years of experience in hospitality, tourism, or lodge operations
- Experience managing hotels, resorts, or remote operations
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams
- Northern or remote experience is an asset

Knowledge
- Strong understanding of remote hospitality operations
- Familiarity with safety, risk management, and incident reporting
- Experience with aviation-supported logistics environments is an asset
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000 – $95,000 per year, based on experience
- End-of-season performance bonus eligibility
- Participation in a shared staff gratuity program
- Employer-paid travel to and from the lodge
- Accommodation and meals provided while on site
- Extended health benefits (50/50 cost share)
