Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Framing Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing frameworks and structures using various carpentry techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading, concrete forming, and the use of hand and power tools. The successful applicant will contribute to residential, commercial, or restoration projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine project requirements
- Construct and install framing components for walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using hand tools and power tools
- Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks as needed for various projects
- Operate heavy equipment safely for lifting and positioning large materials or structural components
- Install siding, perform restoration work, and handle woodworking tasks with precision
- Measure, cut, assemble, and secure materials according to specifications
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes
- Assist in the operation of welding equipment when necessary for structural repairs or modifications
- Heavy lifting of materials and equipment to facilitate construction activities
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding schematics
- Experience with concrete forming, finishing, and woodworking techniques
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and protocols
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of carpentry principles including framing, siding installation, and restoration work
- Ability to interpret technical drawings related to schematics and concrete finishing processes
- Welding skills are a plus for structural repairs or custom fabrication
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
