Position Summary
The Marketing & Communications Assistant is a highly organized and pro-active individual who supports the development, coordination and implementation of RTAM’s marketing and communications strategies. In this role you will contribute to increasing awareness of RTAM’s programs and services through the creation of engaging content, digital marketing campaigns, social media management, brand stewardship and community outreach.
Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
- Support the development, execution and evaluation of marketing and communications strategies that increase awareness, engagement and growth.
- Assist in the development of annual marketing plans and membership campaigns aligned with organizational goals.
- Create, edit, and distribute marketing and communication materials for print and digital channels.
- Monitor performance metrics and prepare reports to evaluate campaign effectiveness.
Social Media & Digital Marketing
- Manage and maintain RTAM’s social media presence across multiple platforms
- Develop engaging content including graphics, videos, stories, and written posts that support organizational objectives and increase member engagement
- Create and maintain a social media content calendar and coordinate content scheduling
- Assist with digital marketing initiatives including email marketing campaigns, online advertising and website content updates.
- Support website maintenance by ensuring content is accurate and aligned with brand standards.
Event & Community Engagement
- Assist with the planning, promotion and execution of special events, community outreach activities and partner initiatives.
- Coordinate marketing support for community presentations, trade shows, conferences, and fundraising events.
- Develop promotional materials and communication plans to support event participation and attendance.
Administrative & Team Support
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Experience using Canva for graphic design and content creation.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, content strategy, and digital marketing best practises.
- Familiarity with website content management systems and email marketing platforms.
- Excellent written, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with analytics, reporting, and performance measurement tools is considered an asset.
- Photography, videography, and basic video editing skills are considered assets.
- French language proficiency is a strong asset.
Education & Experience
- Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media or a related field.
- Minimum one to three years of experience in marketing, communications, social media management or a related role.
- Experience working in the non-profit, community services, or senior-serving sectors is considered an asset.
- Database management and CRM experience is considered an asset.

The Marketing & Communications Assistant plays an important role in sharing our stories, strengthening our brand, and helping connect members.
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 per week
