The Opportunity
SunMETA Group is currently seeking to fill the permanent role of Marketing Assistant - Video Editor to join our marketing team in Calgary, Alberta.
You will create engaging video content that supports marketing campaigns, brand storytelling, student recruitment, events, and internal communications. This role will edit and adapt video assets for digital platforms, social media, advertising, websites, and events while ensuring content meets brand requirements and project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit to produce engaging video content for ad campaigns, social media, websites, events, and internal communications, ensuring content aligns with brand requirements and project objectives;
- support video production from concept to completion, including reviewing footage, creating rough cuts, incorporating feedback, and preparing final edits for distribution;
- create and adapt video assets for different platforms and audiences, including adding graphics, captions, animations, music, and other elements to enhance engagement;
- organize and manage video assets and project files to maintain efficient workflows and support collaboration across marketing projects;
- complete video projects on schedule while ensuring content meets creative, technical, and brand requirements and incorporates stakeholder feedback;
- stay current with video trends, editing techniques, and platform requirements to help improve the quality and effectiveness of marketing content.
Qualifications and Experience
- 1 - 2 years of professional experience in video editing, content creation, or a related field;
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Video Production, Film Production, Multimedia, Digital Media, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education, professional training, and demonstrated industry experience will also be considered.
- experience editing video content for social media, digital marketing, websites, advertising, events, or internal communications;
- experience using professional video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects;
- experience creating content that incorporates graphics, captions, music, transitions, and basic motion elements;
- knowledge of editing principles, rhythm, storytelling, and video structure;
- knowledge of colour correction and sound editing;
- ability to receive feedback professionally and revise content to meet creative direction and project requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage deadlines;
- experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, working with cameras, lighting and stabilizers, and working with mixers and OBS Studio would be considered an asset.
- A portfolio demonstrating video editing skills, storytelling ability, and experience creating digital content is required.
