Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Building Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role is a multifaceted role which involves supporting warehouse, assembly and facility operations, including installing facility signage and products, maintaining fire extinguishers, maintaining and cleaning the grounds, maintaining our fleet, and working on the assembly line. The ideal candidate will have prior building maintenance experience with the ability to operate various types of tools and equipment such as hand tools, power tools, and forklifts. When caught up on day-to-day activities, the candidate will be able to learn aspects of assembly and electrical while working on an assembly line. Class 5 driver's license is required.
Responsibilities
- Install and mount facility signage and other items as needed
- Install, mount and maintain fire extinguishers and other safety equipment
- Maintain fleet via inspections, noting issues, and taking vehicles in for cleaning or maintenance
- Operate equipment including forklifts and jacks
- Maintain facility grounds, cleaning, picking up screws and garbage, picking weeds and weeding
- Assist with order picking, packing, and packaging
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock and maintaining a clean work environment
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards, fully documenting everything
- Assist with electrical or manufacturing tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Prior hand tool and power tool experience is preferred; familiarity with facility maintenance work
- Experience operating equipment such as forklifts and other mechanical lifting devices
- Mechanical knowledge or background in manufacturing or construction is beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures and order fulfillment processes
- Ability to operate load & unload equipment safely in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a physically demanding role
