ADULT PROPRIETOR
Would you like to open your home to a male adult with developmental disabilities and make an incredible difference in his life?
This individual is kind and caring, however, one to one close supervision is required for his wellness and safety. He prefers one to one attention and therefore can not be around small children or animals within the home.
The Company:
Parkland C.L.A.S.S. is a family-based organization, focused on increasing the quality of life for children and adults with developmental disabilities through individual choice, dignity and rights since 1963. We support over 350 Individuals in Central Alberta and in The North West Territories.
The Position:
You would bring him into your home and provide a stable, supportive home environment, encourage positive development and personal growth; facilitate daily routine activities; encourage and assist engagement in meaningful community involvement; participate in the development and implementation of personalized goals; and promoting, empowering and supporting an Individual’s wellness is all aspects of life. Required duties are: bathing, community outings, follow behavioral support plan, medication administration, personal hygiene, prepare meals, day to day support 24 hours.

Remuneration is $3,665 tax free per month, plus the room and board
Requirements:

Completed Grade 12 Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

Class 5 driver’s license and own vehicle (with valid insurance & registration)

Acceptable Driver’s Abstract
-
Acceptable Police Information Check & Child Intervention Record Check)

Private room for the individual

Non-smoking, clean and safe living environment

Home must comply with required safety standards

Experience with FAS/FAE/FASD, non-verbal communication
