POSITION SUMMARY
In collaboration with the engineering team, the Electromechanical Engineering Technologist will support the development, testing, and validation of electrical and electromechanical systems used in passenger train door control systems.
This role focuses on electrical integration, troubleshooting, validation testing, technical documentation, and production support. The technologist works closely with electrical, software, and mechanical engineers to ensure reliable system performance from development through production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Electrical System Support
- Assist in the development and integration of electrical control systems for train door mechanisms
- Interpret and support electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Assist engineers with electrical component selection and system integration
- Support debugging and troubleshooting of electrical systems and embedded controllers
Testing & Validation
- Design, build, and maintain electrical test benches
- Perform functional testing and validation of control systems and prototypes
- Support validation of firmware and hardware interactions
- Document test results and report anomalies to engineering teams
Production & Troubleshooting Support
- Provide technical support to production during manufacturing and product launch
- Assist in diagnosing and repair of electrical or system-level issues during production or testing
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Support RMA/NCR by diagnosing and repair
Documentation & Engineering Support
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to electrical systems, testing procedures, and validation reports
- Support engineering teams with system documentation updates
- Assist with continuous improvement and product enhancement initiatives
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Hold a DEC in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electromechanics, or related field
- Have 3–5 years of experience in electrical or electromechanical systems
- Have experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Have practical experience with electrical troubleshooting and testing
- Are comfortable working with embedded systems and control hardware
- Are detail-oriented with strong technical judgment
- Are autonomous but also able to collaborate effectively with engineering teams
- Are bilingual (French and English)
- Willingness to travel (10–15%)
