About the Role
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of Peace
Association for Life Long Learning and its programs delivered through Vision Learning Centre.
This role combines organizational leadership with direct learner support, allowing the Executive
Director to remain connected to the people and programs they serve.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, learners, funders,
and community partners to ensure the continued success and sustainability of the
organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the organization.
- Manage grants, funding agreements, and reporting requirements.
- Oversee budgets and financial reporting.
- Supervise staff, contractors, and volunteers.
- Support program development and delivery.
- Build relationships with funders, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for the Board of Directors.
- Provide learner intake, educational planning, and support services.
- Coordinate and proctor CAEC examinations.
- Promote the organization and its programs throughout the community.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma.
- Strong literacy, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong digital skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email,
- and online systems.
- Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, funding applications, and organizational
- documents.
- Experience coordinating projects, programs, staff, volunteers, or community initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with learners, staff,
- volunteers, funders, and community partners.
- Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and helping others achieve their goals.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Post-secondary education in education, business, nonprofit management, community
- development, or a related field.
- Experience in adult education, nonprofit leadership, grant writing, or program management.
- Experience supervising staff and volunteers.
- Experience managing budgets and organizational finances.
