Ato Japanese Restaurant is an athletic Omakase Japanese restaurant which located at Richmond Hill Toronto. Omakase is a Japanese phrase which means “I’ll leave it up to you”. Our chef’s goal with each dinner service is to create a very unique dining experience by having each course tailored to our individual guests.
Each of our staff members at Ato Japanese Restaurant all adopt the same core values, that our food and customer service needs to be of the highest quality. In order to keep every dining experience unique, we need to buy into the idea that every detail matters, from the place setting to greeting our guests at the front door.
Responsibilities:
-Welcome guests warmly and guide them to their seats.
-Provide an overview of the Omakase concept and explain any specific restaurant policies.
-Explain the concept of Omakase to guests who may not be familiar with it.
-Describe the chef's approach to creating a personalized dining experience.
-Clarify any dietary restrictions or preferences the guests may have.
-Offer guidance on beverage selections, such as sake or wine, to complement the Omakase experience.
-Provide information about any additional a la carte options or specials, if applicable.
-Act as a liaison between the guests and the chef.
-Communicate any dietary restrictions, allergies, or special requests to the chef.
-Ensure that the meal is paced appropriately, allowing guests to savor each course without feeling rushed.
-Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure a smooth flow of dishes.
-Possess a good understanding of the ingredients used in the Omakase dishes.
-Provide information about the origin, flavor profile, and preparation methods of each dish.
-Be attentive to guests' reactions and adjust the dining experience accordingly.
-Suggest additional items or upgrades to enhance the dining experience.
-Promote special offerings or features to increase overall sales.
-Process payments accurately and efficiently.
-Ensure that the dining area is clean and well-presented at all times.
-Coordinate with other staff members to maintain a tidy and organized work environment.
-Other Duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
-Smart Serve Certification
- Previous experience in hospitality will be an asset
- Strong knowledge of the Japanese food industry practices
- Proficient in cash handling procedures and POS systems
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
-Preferred fluent in Mandarin/Cantonese and conversational English
