Canada U-Tutoring Learning Institute is a not-for-profit organization committed to making quality education accessible to all. We offer academic tutoring, enrichment programs, and personalized learning support for students from kindergarten through high school. We are currently expanding our services to include a BCBA-supervised behaviour intervention program, designed to support students with diverse learning and behavioural needs in a compassionate, ethical, and family-centered environment.
Position Overview
We are seeking one qualified and experienced professional to help develop and deliver individualized support services for children and school-aged students with behavioural, communication, language, developmental, or learning needs.
Candidates may have a professional background as a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA), Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). Applicants are not expected to hold all three qualifications. Experience or professional credentials in any one of these areas would be highly relevant and helpful for this position.
The exact responsibilities and service focus will be adapted to the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience, and permitted professional scope of practice.
Experience
Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational, clinical, therapeutic, or related setting is REQUIRED.
Relevant professional qualifications may include any one of the following:
● Current registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) as an RBA (Ont.)
● Active BCBA certification with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB); appropriate CPBAO registration is required before providing behaviour-analytic services in Ontario
● Current registration with, or eligibility to register with, the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
Additional qualifications:
● Relevant graduate-level education
● Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, behavioural needs, communication difficulties, developmental disabilities, or learning differences
● Knowledge of the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), including available services, eligibility pathways, documentation requirements, and funding processes
● Knowledge of other relevant government, community, insurance, or private funding programs available to children and families
● Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, intervention planning, and progress-monitoring skills
● Ability to develop practical and family-friendly support plans
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Ability to work independently while collaborating with families, educators, and other professionals
● Experience supervising support staff or developing new programs is an asset
● Patience, empathy, professionalism, and strong organizational skills
● Valid Vulnerable Sector Check
● Appropriate professional liability insurance where applicable
Responsibilities:
● Assess students’ behavioural, communication, language, developmental, or learning needs within the successful candidate’s professional scope
● Develop individualized support or intervention plans based on assessment findings, student needs, and family goals
● Provide one-on-one or small-group sessions and/or clinical program oversight, depending on professional qualifications
● Conduct behavioural, speech, language, communication, or related assessments when appropriately qualified
● Monitor student progress and adjust programming using assessment results and progress data
● Develop practical home-support strategies and coach parents or caregivers
● Help families understand relevant service and funding options, including OAP and other applicable programs, within the position’s professional scope
● Train and support tutors, educators, Behaviour Assistants, or other program staff where appropriate
● Provide professional supervision when qualified and authorized to do so
● Communicate regularly with families regarding student goals, progress, and recommendations
● Collaborate with educators and other professionals while maintaining clear professional boundaries and scope of practice
● Maintain accurate and timely session notes, progress updates, treatment or support plans, and other required documentation
● Contribute to the development of new student-support programs, service procedures, and progress-tracking systems
● Follow all applicable professional, ethical, privacy, and regulatory standards
