Health & Safety Lead
Job Summary:
The H&S Lead will be responsible for leading our organization's safety initiatives, ensuring health and safety procedures and guidelines are adhered to across Canada and the US and provide services and support to all locations in relation to COR and SECOR certification process, audits and compliance. The H&S Lead will always be professional and presentable with the understanding they are a representative of ATTA Elevators and have a responsibility to uphold and maintain that image to the best of their abilities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in governing document review, revisions and development of procedures, guidelines and communications
- Manage and maintain the HSE software system(s) and third-party safety management systems (ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, Avetta, NCMS, PEC Safety, etc.)
- Maintain and deliver HSE policies across all our locations
- Assist Managers in resolving HSE issues and incident investigations
- Complete WCB/WSIB/OSHA/CNESST submissions and follow up
- Support Managers with safety documentation (e.g. bid packages)
- Conduct or assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace
- Support the development and execution of emergency response plans in collaboration with relevant departments
- Manage and coordinate internal and external training for employees
- Maintain digital copies of employees' safety records
- Provide guidance and support in meeting or exceeding municipal, provincial or federal regulations and COR requirements
Safety Reporting
- Create, develop and produce a robust reporting system for all safety related statistics
- Develop in-depth reports by location/region regarding safety incidents and improvements
- Create and track Workplace Injury reports detailing events such as time missed, near misses, nature of injury, return to work time etc.
Projects and Audits
- Manage COR application and completion for the Company
- Annual CI/OH&S binder completion and distribution
- COR Auditing (internal – every two years)
Qualification & Skill Requirements:
- 5+ Years of Health and Safety or related experience
- Post-secondary education, HSE certification (e.g OHS Certification) or post-secondary education in a related field
- NCSO certification an asset
- Experience with OSHA is preferred
- Experience with development of a Safety Management System (SMS), (EHS-Insight, E-Compliance etc.)
- Understanding of Incident investigation, Disability and WCB claims management
- Active understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and standards
- Knowledge of Elevator or Construction process related experience is considered an asset
- Effective organizational and written communication skills
- Highly proficient in all Microsoft Office programs
- Experience in thriving in stressful high demand situations
- Self-motivated with effective time management skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills to conduct safety meetings and training
Pay: Up to $95,000.00 per year
