Clever Clogs Inclusive Academy is a neurodiversity-affirming practice dedicated to supporting autistic and other neurodivergent children through relationship-based, child-led services. We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA/Communication Health Assistant) to join our growing interdisciplinary team under the supervision of a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist.
Position Overview
The SLPA will implement individualized communication goals developed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist while working directly with children in their homes and community settings.
This position follows the supervision expectations outlined by Speech and Hearing BC and emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and ongoing professional development.
Responsibilities
- Implement speech and language intervention plans designed by the supervising SLP.
- Support children through play-based, relationship-focused intervention.
- Collect session data and document progress accurately.
- Complete chart notes within 24 hours following each session.
- Share documentation with the supervising SLP after every visit.
- Participate in regular supervision meetings and virtual observation sessions.
- Communicate professionally with families and members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional standards.
Supervision & Support
Successful applicants can expect:
- Ongoing supervision by a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist.
- The supervising SLP reviews documentation after every session.
- Virtual observation and coaching approximately every 4–6 sessions.
- Additional mentoring and training provided as needed.
- Collaborative treatment planning and regular clinical support.
Session Structure
Each scheduled appointment includes:
- 45 minutes of direct therapy with the child.
- 15 minutes for preparation and documentation.
- 1 hour billed.
QualificationsRequired
- Completion of a recognized Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or Communication Health Assistant (CHA) program.
- Eligible to work in British Columbia.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Reliable transportation for travel between client homes.
- Current Criminal Record Check.
- Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain).
- CPR/First Aid certification. (Asset)
- DIRFloortime Knowledge, Certification.
Preferred
- Experience working with autistic and neurodivergent children.
- Experience providing home-based services.
- Familiarity with neurodiversity-affirming and relationship-based approaches. (DIRFloortime)
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Pay: $35.04-$50.00 per hour
