Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our public practice team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational accounting skills within a professional environment. The successful candidate will assist with various accounting functions, support client accounts, and contribute to the overall financial accuracy of our firm. Prior experience with accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles are preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate. Responsibilities
- Support account reconciliation processes, including bank reconciliation and account analysis
- Maintain accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
- Help prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries for clients and internal review
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including data entry and ledger management
- Support auditing procedures by gathering documentation and verifying financial data
- External communications including CRA
- Contribute to payroll processing and related financial services tasks
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards in all tasks
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, or Caseware is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation processes
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Good communication skills for collaboration within the team and with clients
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to various accounting systems and procedures
- Basic understanding of corporate finance concepts and financial services industry practices
- Bilingual between Korean and English is an asset.
