Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Licensed Electrician (309A or 442A) to join our team supporting surface and underground mining operations in the Timmins area. This role offers the opportunity to apply your electrical expertise in a fast-paced mining environment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems across multiple sites.
Pay
$30 – $75 per hour (depending on project allocation)
Schedule
Monday to Thursday
Positions Available
- Surface mining / industrial sites
- Underground mining settings
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in both surface and underground mining environments
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Work with low voltage systems, PLCs, motors, motor controls, MCCs, and industrial electrical equipment
- Conduct inspections to identify hazards or failures and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance
- Assist with electrical upgrades, renovations, and new installations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed
- Collaborate with crews and train/mentor apprentices when required
Requirements
- Valid Ontario 309A or 442A Electrical Licence (required)
- Experience in industrial or mining electrical work preferred
- Ability to drive manual transmission trucks
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a crew
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout and mining safety standards
- Must pass background check and drug testing (as per client requirements)
- Willing to train and mentor new apprentices
- Common Core modules considered an asset
