Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Welcome patients by greeting them professionally and warmly and helping them with anything that they need while at the clinic.
- Scheduling appointments in person and via telephone for an orthopedic surgeon and possibly a family physician in the future.
- When scheduling sports medicine patients ensure that all of the supporting documentation is in place before the appointment date.
- Ensure that the sports medicine patients are placed into the exam rooms efficiently and that the exam rooms are prepped at all times.
- Collection of clinic fees from patients and invoicing as required.
- Data entry into the MedAccess electronic medical record system for scheduling, results management, follow-up appointments, invoicing and MSI billing. Must be proficient in all aspects of the MedAccess electronic medical record system.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, protecting patients’ rights.
- Work collaboratively with the other administrative staff and healthcare professionals at the clinic.
- Oversee the clinic supply needs.
- Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by Medical Director.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Office Receptionist program.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in all aspects of the MedAccess electronic medical record system.
- Minimum of 1 year Clinic receptionist experience in a high volume clinic.
- Proven ability to multi-task, time management skills, telephone etiquette skills, high attention to detail, professionalism, quality focused, high organizational skills and data entry skills.
- Familiar with software packages such as MS Word and Excel is considered an asset.
- Typing/dictation skills considered an asset
