Our client is North America's largest independently owned manufacturer of steel doors and frames, specializing in commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional applications.
They are currently seeking an experienced Spot Welder to join a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for high-volume spot welding of hollow metal door and frame components while maintaining consistent quality, accuracy, and production output.
This is a production-focused welding position. The ideal candidate is comfortable performing repetitive spot welding at a steady pace and has previous experience in hollow metal doors, frames, sheet metal, or a similar high-volume metal manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-volume spot welding on hollow metal frame and door components.
- Spot weld hinges, jamb components, tension anchors, floor anchors, centre anchors, and other required frame components.
- Complete approximately six spot welds per stock piece, depending on the product and production requirements.
- Work toward established production targets while maintaining consistent weld quality.
- Inspect materials and completed welds for defects, alignment, and overall quality.
- Ensure components are properly positioned before completing spot welds.
- Read and follow work orders, production instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
- Handle and position steel and sheet metal components throughout the welding process.
- Identify welding defects or production issues and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain an organized and efficient workstation.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Work closely with production supervisors and other manufacturing team members to meet daily production requirements.
- Perform additional production or manufacturing duties as required.
Production Expectations
This is a high-volume production welding position, must be able to work efficiently while maintaining consistent quality.
Qualifications
- Ideally 2-3 years of spot welding experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Previous experience in the hollow metal door and frame industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with steel doors, steel frames, sheet metal, or similar fabricated metal products is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive, high-volume spot welding.
- Comfortable working toward daily production targets.
- Ability to maintain consistent weld quality while working at a fast production pace.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify basic weld quality issues and manufacturing defects.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work a consistent Monday-to-Friday schedule.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and production instructions.
Previous experience manufacturing hollow metal doors and frames, steel frames, sheet metal products, or similar high-volume fabricated metal components will be strongly preferred
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
