Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Survey Assistant / Surveyor to join our team. This role is well suited to someone looking to build a career in construction surveying while working in a hands-on field environment. The successful candidate will assist with survey layout, data collection, and construction support tasks on infrastructure and development projects.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience with surveying equipment and industry software. Training can be provided to the right candidate, including training on survey equipment and related software such as Civil 3D.
This role requires a person who is willing to work out of town full time on a shift schedule. In addition to surveying duties, the successful candidate will also be required to assist with other day-to-day tasks on the construction crew as needed.
Compensation will be negotiated based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Take direction from project supervisor and survey manager
- Collect field data using GPS, total stations, and other surveying instruments for various projects.
- Assist with construction layout, boundary marking, and topographical survey work.
- Support project managers, and site supervisors by helping interpret survey information and providing field support.
- Maintain organized survey records and assist with managing project data.
- Ensure all survey activities are carried out in compliance with safety standards and project requirements.
- Be willing to work out of town full time on a shift schedule.
- Assist with other day-to-day duties on the construction crew outside of surveying.
Experience
- Prior experience in construction surveying is preferred but not mandatory. Training can be provided to a suitable candidate.
- Familiarity with construction processes is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with supervisors and managers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office programs, and Outlook is required.
Pay: $24.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 75.0 per week
