Excavator Operator (Mainline and Side Hoe)
Lemieux Excavation is currently seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to work on underground rehab / replacement projects located in Ottawa. We offer competitive wages, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and potential for work over the winter.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Installation of underground utilities in close proximity to existing utilities and in existing residential / commercial areas
- Work closely with pipe crews to install pipe - ensuring a high level of safety, communication and quality
- Adherence to legislation for excavation and trenching requirements
- Lower materials to pipe crews using proper rigging mechanisms and procedures
- Operate excavator in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment
- Ensure work is always done safely, to the highest quality standard while maintaining strong production
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program
- Daily equipment inspections and maintenance
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of experience as a Mainline Hoe
- Underground utility rehabilitation / replacement experience is an asset
- Exceptionally safety conscious
- Able to work independently and follow instruction from the superintendent
- Ability to operate other equipment is an asset
- Strong communication skills
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
