Job Summary:
Parts and Service Advisor is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by accurately identifying customer vehicle needs, providing expect advise on parts and service, preparing repair orders, and ensuring efficient workflow between the customer and the service technicians. This role is vital in maintaining customer satisfaction and contributing to the overall profitability of the service and parts department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and source the correct parts using electronic parts catalogs, technical manuals, and other resources.
- Process customers orders accurately and efficiently.
- Manage and maintain inventory levels, ensuring proper stock rotation and minimizing obsolete inventory.
- Receive and verify incoming parts shipments, noting and discrepancies or damage.
- Coordinate with the service department to ensure parts are available for scheduled repair.
- Handle parts returns and credit slips according to company policy.
- Organize and maintain a clean and efficient parts department area.
- Great customers promptly and courteously, in person and over the phone.
- Actively listen to customer concerns regarding their vehicle’s issues and service needs.
- Translate customer descriptions into clear and concise repair order for technicians.
- Provide accurate estimates for parts and labor, clearly explaining the scope of the work and charges.
- Communicate regularly with customers throughout the repair process, providing updates on progress, delays, and any additional necessary repairs.
- Obtain proper authorization from customers for all the work performed.
- Advise customers on recommended maintenance, service, and product offering ( accessories, extended warranties).
- A solid understanding of vehicle systems, components, and common repair is essential.

- Ability to lift and move automotive parts ( may require some physical exertion).
- A fundamental understanding of automotive mechanical fundamentals.
- Experience in automotive parts sales, service, or related field is often preferred.
