A growing and innovative manufacturing company in the Niagara Region is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to join its team.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity within a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in assembling, installing, testing, and commissioning specialized truck-mounted equipment and hydraulic systems.
What You'll Do
- Install and assemble hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical components on heavy equipment and truck bodies
- Install pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, lift axles, engines, and related systems
- Drill and modify truck frames and equipment components as required
- Wire and connect sensors, relays, solenoids, control panels, lighting, and electronic systems
- Perform equipment testing, calibration, pressure testing, and leak detection
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to perform updates and equipment testing
- Document testing results and report deficiencies
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area
- Collaborate with team members to meet production and quality objectives
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment, truck equipment, manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or a related industry
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, schematics, pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and hoses
- Experience working with 12V and 24V electrical systems
- Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagrams
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
