Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to support classroom teachers and enhance student learning experiences. The ideal candidate will work closely with the teacher and students, including those with disabilities, to foster an inclusive and engaging educational environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of children across various age groups, particularly in early childhood education settings. The Educational Assistant will play a vital role in supporting instructional activities and ensuring that all students receive the attention and assistance they need to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Assist the teacher with running the WCP classes, including supervision of students, preparing learning materials, supporting individual or small groups of students.
- Collaborating with the teacher on lessons and activities.
- Provide professional leadership to the WCP Board members and volunteers.
- Assist in cleaning and maintenance of WCP Property.
Requirements
- Prior classroom experience or background in early childhood education is preferred
- Experience working with children, including those with disabilities, is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators and students
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in supporting student success
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in education or related fields are a plus
- Clean and current record check and vulernable sector check
- Preference given to candidates with current first aid/CPR
Pay: $15.00-$16.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
